CIUDAD - detail
The colour palette in this piece is subtle and limited. Actually, it consists of a diversity of grays more brown, more pink, more green- that have similar values. The pattern is the result of clamp-resist using clothes pins on a folded piece of fabric. The monotony is broken by introducing a change in scale (using acrylic squares) and the colour red. The nature of the fabric, a very dense velvety-like cotton, makes possible a watercolour effect in areas where the passage of the colorant is resisted by folding the cloth. The overall composition recalls an urban landscape.
