LINTERNAS - detail
This diamond-shaped resist is a recurrent pattern found in resist-dyed textiles in a diversity of cultures (India, Japan, Africa, pre-Columbian America). In this piece, it is used because of the way it seems to trap light. Isolated in the middle of each module, the red seems to glow like a light inside a lantern in the night.
