ENCLOSURE 1 - detail
The pattern created through clamp resist is a set of parallel lines floating freely in a vast, dark environment. The stitching is there to demarcate a space that contains these shapes, much like an enclosure. This abstract image evokes many everyday experiences, such as the pattern of shutters and light filtering through them in an enclosed room; or objects in a patio, enclosed by the surrounding walls; or logs lying on the grass in a field enclosed by a fence.
