These pieces were woven in pure silk. Twill and tabby weaves were used to obtain two very different cloth surfaces. The clamp-resist using acrylic squares on a fold of the cloth leaves a mark, much like footprints on wet sand. The path travelled by the dye to the fibre varies depending on the structure of the weaves.
